A youth organization, Association of Humble and Obedient Youths (AHOY) has charged the youths in Nigeria to imbibe the spirit of national unity and begin to partake seriously in the nation building process in order to achieve peace and progress in the country.

The President of the association, Soetan Ayodele Oladimeji otherwise known as Bishop, gave the charge while speaking at the opening ceremony of AHOY Flagship 3rd Annual Converge and Colloquium, with the ‘Progression Converge 2024’,.

The three-day event was also used to educate and enlighten members of the association on entrepreneurship and investment opportunities, particularly in the real estate sector of the economy.

Addressing members further, Soetan noted that youths are often used by the politicians to perpetuate violence especially during the electioneering period, urging them to resist the antics of unscrupulous politicians and desist from being employed as cannon fodders to cause mayhem in the country.

While charging them to be engaged in productive activities, seek sincere means of empowerment and investment opportunities, he said “this converge was organized to re-establish the organization’s goal in the minds of members and the public that as a non-religious and non partisan group, we stand against national disunity, violence, but encourage and promote tolerance as well as understanding”.

“We see insecurity as one of the products of religious division and we believe our message will resonate with other citizens who share our vision of achieving a peaceful and progressive country”, Soetan stated.

Speaking on the topic of the lecture, ‘Comparing Real Estate Investment with other Potentials In Nigeria’, an insurance expert, Miss Peace Fadare, enjoined members of the association to prioritize insurance for themselves, their family members, and in all they do as it is the intelligent thing to do as adults with a vision for the future.

Also speaking, Mathew Kayode Ojo, a Chattered Estate Surveyor and Valuer, encouraged the youths to invest in real estate and invest the right way to avoid loss of investments and revenue.

Toeing the views Ojo, Adegbite Akintunde, an astute real estate expert, urged members of the AHOY to value real estate investment and look towards developing areas of the country as a prime location of emerging markets with high profits.

He also encouraged members to follow due protocol when investing in real estate and engage the help of professionals.
