He disclosed this while inaugurating the new executive of Oyede Ward 12, on Friday February 3, 2023, charging the party faithful not to be swayed by cooked up rumours that he was stepping down from the race.

He claimed that the rumour came from the camp of APC governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege whom he alleged orchestrated the plot by some elements in his ward to forge signatures in order to indicate that he had withdrawn from the 2023 governorship race.

He said that at a time they had threatened to ‘circulate fictitious and forged documents’ accusing him of having sympathy and working with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who is the PDP vice presidential candidate.
