Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to make and announce his decision on his future by the end of this month.

That’s according to a report from Turkish outlet, Takvim, who say that the 27-year-old is attracting interest from numerous European clubs.

This has been a successful campaign for Leicester, following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Under new manager Enzo Maresca, the Foxes bounced back at the first attempt by claiming the Championship title, to secure an immediate return to the top-flight of English football.

However, it seems as though one player who will not be returning to the Premier League with them is Iheanacho.

As things stand, the striker’s contract with Leicester is due to expire at the end of the season, and there has been no sign that he will be putting pen to paper on a new deal.

That of course, means he will be able to join a new club on a free transfer ahead of the new campaign.

Indeed, Iheanacho is attracting plenty of attention from elsewhere. Recent reports claimed that Aston Villa director Monchi recently held talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives with a view to a summer move.

However, it appears as though the Premier League side will have plenty of competition from elsewhere in the race to sign the Nigeria international. According to this latest update, three Turkish clubs – Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas – as well as clubs in Germany and Italy, are all showing an interest in signing the Leicester forward. It is also claimed that Iheanacho himself is set to make a decision on where he will be playing his football from next season by the end of this month.

As a result, these interested clubs, as well as Leicester, may not have long to wait to find out where the striker will be heading for the 2024/25 campaign and beyond.

It does feel as though the addition of Iheanacho from Leicester will be a useful one for whichever club is able to sign him in the summer. The striker has found himself somewhat down the pecking order at The King Power Stadium in recent months, which may admittedly be a consequence of his contract situation.

Even so, he has shown in the past that he is more than capable of getting goals at top-flight level, something he has previously done with both Manchester City and Leicester City. As a result, that could see him become a very useful outlet leading the line for one of those clubs, and so at a rather high level as well.

Beyond that, the fact he is out of contract in the summer, ensuring he is available on a free transfer also means that from a financial perspective, this is a risk-free move that could turn profitable, if they are able to sell Iheanacho on in the future.

So with all that in mind, it does feel as though these interested clubs may well want to push for the signing of the striker in the summer, if he is indeed to leave Leicester City at the end of this season.
