….urge security operatives to arrest Fani-Kayode, Onanuga, MC Oluomo

From Jeff Amechi Agbodo, Onitsha

The Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) has called on Nigerian Police and Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately release Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate in Lagos State, Chief Frederick Nwajagu over alleged comment of mobilizing IPOB members to protect Igbo’s in Lagos following incessant attacks.

The group said that security operatives would have arrested those who triggered off the attacks, maiming and killings of Ndigbo in Lagos during the just concluded general election rather than arresting the Eze Ndigbo.

The President of Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) Dede Uzor who said that Nigerian security outfits have been compromised by arresting innocent Chief by pouring out his mind as a leader in an uncontrollable and continuous attacks on his people while the security agents watched.

Uzor in a statement said that members of All Progressives Congress (APC), such as Femi Fan-Kayode, spokesperson of Bola Ahmed Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, MC OLuomo and co-travellers should first have been arrested for openly instigating and inciting the touts through their utterances.

NUF leader lamented that it was obvious that Ndigbo is not needed in Nigeria, hence the deliberate policies of Federal and some state governments are targeted against them and their property.

He noted that apart from the maiming and killings of Ndigbo and the arrest of Eze Ndigbo in Ajao Estate, no fewer than three markets belonging to Igbos have been burnt down within this period in Lagos and no individual or groups has been brought to justice.

The group however wondered why the DSS, the Police and the Nigerian Army would advertise themselves to this arson but were quick to arrest Eze Ndigbo in Ajao Estate, is it because he’s an Igbo man?

He said that security operatives would become too weak when the likes of Onanuga, Fani-Kayode, MC OLuomo and others who incited the Yorubas against Igbos were involved.

“It is very obvious that the Igbos are not wanted and that’s why they are treated as second-class citizens in the country.

“It is unfortunate that the likes of Mr MC Oluomo, the Park management chairman in Lagos State, FFK, Onanuga among others who vociferously cum despicable and allegedly called for the attack against Igbos in Lagos and threatened that anyone who doesn’t want to vote APC should not come out to vote and have not been invited by security agents.

“The case of FFK is very pitiable and disgraceful because he remains an inlaw to Ndigbo hence his ex-wife came from Abia state and has Igbo blood with a set of male twins.

Those who gave this unlawful order were ignored, while the persons who were killed are being persecuted. Unfortunately, APC, the DSS, IGP, Nigerian Army did not arrest them” said Dede Uzor. But a traditional ruler said Dede Uzor, who called for the self-defence of his people who were maimed and butchered while security agents stood aloof was arrested in a commando style and was about taken to Abuja.

“This singular action against the Igbo ethnic group is a clear case that Igbos are not wanted in Nigeria. The Eze Ndigbo did not call for any attack on anybody or destruction of government property, rather since those who are statutorily mandated to protect lives and property were no more living up to the expectations, his people have the right to defend themselves.

A few months ago, the Igbo group said, Asari Dokubo, a Niger Delta warrior was seen on social media parading offensive weapons like GPMG, AK-47 Assault Riffles and militants armed to the teeth.

“He was neither invited nor arrested by any security outfits in the country, rather a traditional ruler who made a harmless statement is being treated like one who planned a coup d’etat.

“We unequivocally demand his immediate and unconditional release forth with a public apology immediately tendered accordingly, or charge him to court if you found him culpable of violating any Nigerian law, enough is enough” Uzor stated.
