In a release signed by Obi Okoli,
President and Okebaram Prince, PRO, the organization said the arrest and detention of Kanu has caused serious insecurity in the South East region.

The organization, which said it represents the voices and concerns of all the Igbo speaking in Nollywood, is pleading for justice and fairness in the case of Kanu.

The organization highlighted the fact that Kanu has been a peaceful activist, using his platform to advocate for the rights and freedom of the Eastern-region people.

IGADO said it recognized the significant impact Kanu has had on his people. “His message of unity and self-determination has resonated with many, and his voice has become a symbol of hope for the Igbo people.

“With his arrest and detention, there is a sense of fear and injustice among the community.”

The organization stressed the negative effects of Kanu’s detention on the Igbo film industry, adding that it was deeply saddened by the negative impact Kanu’s case is having on the industry.

“IGADO is appealing to the Nigerian government to release Nnamdi Kanu and instead focus on addressing the root causes of the agitation for Biafra rather than silencing those who are advocating for their people’s rights.”

The organization said it is confident that Kanu’s release will bring peace and stability to the Igbo communities and the country as a whole.
