Months after the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) stopped the sale of prepaid meters, the company has announced new prices.

In a flier titled: IBEDC approved map prices, (May 2024), obtained by our correspondent on Sunday, the company said there has been a change in the price of meters effective from May 23rd.

According to the list, a single-phase (smart meter-mod bus) is now N106,802.69; a three-phase (smart meter-mod bus) now costs N210,751.61; a single-phase (smart meter-low range radio frequency) is now N106,802.69.

Others are three-phase (smart meter-low range radio frequency) at the cost of N216,714.63; single phase (smart meter cellular) now costs N110,073.86, and three-phase (smart meter cellular) now costs N209,954.70.

The company noted that meters are to be installed on the customers’ premises within 10 working days after payment, saying that the cost of meters will be determined monthly after a competitive bid process by the vendors.
