In a horrific incident that has left the community reeling, a 24-year-old man, Abass Olalere, was reportedly butchered to death by a group of 12 unidentified assailants at Moniya in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.

The attack reportedly occurred on Thursday night around 9:48 pm at Labinkulu village, Moniya, within the Akinyele Local Government Area.

The deceased’s wife, Omolayo Olalere, and their three-month-old son were present during the brutal attack.

According to Omolayo, the gang invaded their home, forcing their way in despite the family’s attempts to lock the doors and windows. They then proceeded to mercilessly attack Abass, using various weapons such as daggers, axes, knives, broken bottles, and cutlasses, as well as charms to ensure he did not survive the onslaught.
