The chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has declared that the human resources management remains the backbone of any organization across the world.

The institute maintained that the success of any organization depends largely on the functionality of the human resources management of such organization.

The chairman, Ota branch of the institute, Mrs Bertina Bamgbose stated these while speaking at a sporting event organized by the institute for members of the branch to unwind.

She stressed the need for members of the institute to take time to rest, relax and exercise their bodies, saying that they can only discharge their duties effectively if they stay healthy.

As backbone of the workforce in any organization, Mrs Bamgbose stressed the need for personnel managers to take good care of their health in order to be able to discharge their duties effectively.

The event which was the first of its kind was held at the premises of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) office in Ota, Ogun state.

Extolling the personnel managers, Mrs Bamgbose said they are the only set of professionals who are key players that run pivotal roles in the wellbeing of the entire workforce of any organization.

Mrs Bamgbose said “these unsung heroes work tirelessly day in day out behind the scenes to ensure that the people who are the strength of any company run smoothly and efficiently at all times.”

She described the human resource management profession as the architects of the workplace, crafting policies that provide the foundation for fair, respectable and productive work environment.

“From recruitment to retirement, these set of professionals are involved in every stage of an employee’s journey. The roles of these professionals are complex, challenging and often goes unnoticed,” she stated.

“Today, we recognize, acknowledge and celebrate our invaluable contributions to the labour force. We also use this opportunity to remind Human Resource professionals that they are the heartbeat of their organisations. Your wellbeing is not a luxury. By taking care of your self, you are better equipped to take acre of others,” she added.
