For its “Outstanding Contributions to Fitness and Wellness in Nigeria,” foremost family entertainment channel, WapTV, was recently honoured at the maiden edition of WeMove Awards.
The award came for WapTV at the glamorous event held at Photismos Conference Centre, Lekki, Lagos on Saturday March 25, 2023.
According to the organisers, the channel was honoured for broadcasting several programmes promoting health and fitness-conscious lifestyle such as Health Matta, Shake Body, Boys Can Cook, Dear Shedams, Family Health, Make Your Food Your Medicine, Foodies & Spice, Usekwu Igbo, The Fastest Shedder reality show, Africa Kitchen and others; as well as the coverage of several fitness and medical events over the years.
Speaking on the award, Wole Adenuga, Managing Director, WapTV, said: “Fitness and Wellness are issues all Nigerians should pay attention to regardless of their educational background or socio-economic class. As the first Pidgin-English speaking TV channel in Nigeria, watched by majority of Nigerians, we have always strived to show programmes that simplify these issues to properly enlighten our viewers.
