Former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has described late Chief Tony Anenih as a charismatic elder statesman, in a tribute to the former Works minister who died at 85 on Sunday, in Abuja.

General Babangida, in a three-paragraph statement issued in Minna, capital of Niger State, yesterday, described the late former chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as an elder statesman with “a unique passion of providing solutions in governance of the country.”

“Indeed, Nigeria and Nigerians will greatly miss a political master strategist in the next political dispensation,” he added.

Babangida, on behalf of himself and family, extended his condolences to the immediate Anenih family, the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, government and people of Edo State, as well as PDP members.
