The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, stormed a Celestial Church in Oriyarin village, Mowe, within the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, abducted two worshippers.

The State Police Public Relations Officer SP Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the abduction of two worshippers, namely Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Alamutu Abiodun, has promptly ordered the mobilisation of security personnel to pursue the perpetrators.

The statement reads: “Suspected kidnapping report at my disposal 28/3/2024 reveals that unidentified gunmen, invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village Mowe and abducted two persons, Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.

“The Commissioner of Police has been briefed and he has ordered immediate mobilisation of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
