…Backs Kalu for Senate President

A group, Every Lagosian Matters (ELM), has urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reconcile and harmonise all interest groups with a view to galvanising Lagosians for the task ahead of building a greater Lagos.

At a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, the team leader of ELM, Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, called on Lagosians to join hands with the governor to support the developmental vision of the governor of Lagos State.

The group also backed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to emerge the Senate President, saying he has all the qualifications for the exalted position.

“We wish to use this medium to formally congratulate Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu for keeping a date with history in the recently concluded Presidential election where he came tops in a hotly contested race.

“We congratulate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for winning the governorship elections with wide margin, an attestation that you are in tune and at home with every Lagosian. We use this opportunity to call on all contestants to see the election as a competition where a winner must emerge and losing is not a sign of weakness but rather time and chance happens to them all.

“We call on Sanwo-Olu to reconcile and harmonise all interest groups with a view to galvanising Lagosians for the task ahead of building a greater Lagos.
We call on Lagosians to join hands as usual to support the developmental vision of the acovernor of Lagos State as he commence his last term in office from 29th May, 2023, while we would like to remind his excellency to use the next four years to build enduring legacies.

“We thank the people and leaders of Ndigbo and all every other ethic that show love and support for the Governor and the APC during the campaign and election.
We congratulate the Christian community led by Bishop Stephen Adegbite for the stout support for his excellency.
We cannot thank Governor Sanwo-Olu enough for the donation of One Hundred Million Naira Only (N100,000,000.00) to the Akere Motor Parts Dealers Association (AMPDA), and the foundation laying ceremony for rebuilding the market.

“We call on political leaders of thought to synergise and always sue for national reconciliation and peaceful co-existence as paramount factors of national survival. To this end, we appeal to the APCs leadership including the President-Elect to consider zoning the office of the Senate President to the South East in the spirit of federal character principle.
Furthermore, the most qualified among the senators from the South East who have cognate and requisite experience, and exposure about Nigeria’s diversity is distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the current Chief Whip of the 9th Senate., a former governor and an incisive entrepreneur and political bridge builder. This will go a long way to rejuvenate trust and contribute to the development of our nation,” he said.
