A group known as Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) has commended Aliko Dangote for the reduction of desiel price from N1650 to N1000 to cushion the effect of high cost of the product over the years.
The group said the gesture of Dangote was timely due to cries and suffering of poor masses who are going through hardship to get food on their tables.
The President of NUF Mr. Augustine Chukwudum in a statement said, by reducing the price of diesel which is the major commodity used by heavy duty vehicles to transport goods and foods across the country, Dangote has done a great thing to Nigerians and Nigerian economy.
“We are showing this apperication because what he has done will go a long way in reducing the prices of goods and foods which has gone out of the reach of poor suffering Nigerians. We call on all citizens of Nigeria who are patriotic, who wishes and pray always for the betterment of our great country to appreciate and thank God for answering our prayer through Dangote because we know very well that if Dangote refinery start fully and get all the crude oil needed from Nigeria the prices of fuel, kerosene and Diesel will be reduced drastically.
“That is why GMD NNPC Mele Kyari was trying very hard last year 2023 after Dangote refinery was inaugurated to frustrated him by telling the world that Dangote refinery will not bring any change, he also told the company to look for crude oil elsewhere because NNPC cannot supply the company all the crude oil they needed, this is something we have in excess, because he saw the coming of Dangote refinery as torn in his flesh because he will no longer loot our money in the non existing subsidy.
“That is why we are calling on our amiable president Bols Ahmed Tinubu to probe Mele Kyari for looting for the past years he has been in the office as GMD NNPC. We commend president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for having listening hear President since the existence of Nigeria as a nation. We appeal to him to encourage Dangote by providing the company with crude oil at the rate of N200 to one dollar and further reduce it to N100 to one dollar by September 2024 as we have been demanded this shall go a long way to bringing industries in comatose back to life and jobs shall be created for unemployed youths and reduce crime to barest minimum.
“We renew our calls on Governors of Anambra, Imo and Abia states to bring investors who shall built refinery in each of the states that refined one hundred thousand barrels daily each because they have crude oil in commercial quantity” he stated.
