The Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, a global humanitarian organisation has maintained that the current hardship faced by Nigerians can only be solved through collective efforts and not the task of the Federal Government alone.

National President of NBM,Olorogun Ese Kakor disclosed this during the 45th National conference and 18th annual lecture of the organisation in Owerri the Imo State capital.

According to him,contributions from corporate bodies, individuals can go a long way in touching the lives of the less privileged ones in the society.

He said “In mitigating the sufferings of the people, the total responsibility should not be left in the hands of the
Government alone. Corporate organizations should also share part of the responsibilities alleviating the sufferings of the people, that will add value to the people.

“As an Organization we have been able to reach out to the poorest households without exclusion error and we will continue to play our part in providing temporary reliefs among the vulnerable anywher we find ourselves.”

“With the current recession, inflation, instability an hardship being faced globally; as an Organisation we are
highlighting innovative policy solution either tempcrarily or in a long term. We are taking Nigeria as a case study.

“The current situation has left the poor and less privilege vulnerable. At various times as an Organization, we have been able to provide short term solutions that we believe can give immediate Succor to hundreds of thousands struggling with hunger and poverty.

Highlights of the ceremony was the distribution of major food items to indigent ones in the State and lectures from erudite lecturers tackling the theme of the conference, “Addressing the dual challenges of poverty and inflation in Nigeria “.
