As Muslims across the globe celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has called on the people to sustain fervent prayers for lasting peace and unity in the state and Nigeria.

The governor made the call in his message to the people of Kebbi State in commemoration of Eid-el-Adha.

According to the governor, such prayers should also be focused on the need for divine intervention in the affairs of the state and Nigeria.

“We also need to pray for the even socio-economic development of our dear state and the nation. We are fully committed to consolidating our myriad achievements recorded in the last year.

“We will remain unwaveringly committed to fulfilling our social contract with the people of Kebbi State.

“Our modest achievements recorded so far would not have been possible without the routine support and prayers from all cross-sections of the people of the state.

“While fully recommitting myself and my APC-led government, I am urging the good people of the state, who have remained reliable pillars and partners in our course of taking the state to greater heights, not to relent,” the governor added.
