Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has mobilized the contractor back to the abandoned Osogbo-Ikirun/Kwara State boundary road.

A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, said the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr Olusola Ajao, disclosed in his office.

The Osogbo-Ikirun/Kwara State boundary road was started by Rauf Aregbesola-led government.

Ajao noted that the uncompleted road project is causing hardship to residents, especially motorists who ply the road daily.

Ajao said the government of Adeleke magnanimously ordered the remobilization of the contractor back to the site and commence the work to ease the suffering of motorists.

He said the Governor has specifically ordered the contractor to ensure speedy progress of the project and see that it gets to an advanced stage within the next two months.

“The Governor has charged the contractor to move speedily on the project and ensure that work reaches an advanced stage in the next two months to ease the suffering of residents and motorists plying the road.

“I use the medium to urge road users and residents to cooperate with the contractors while the job is being carried out,” he added.

He said Governor Adeleke is to visit the project site to inspect the progress of work by next week.
