Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has revoked all land allocations made to individuals by his predecessor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
The Governor made the declaration on his first day in office as the Governor of the state.
Speaking through his Press Secretary Abubakar Bawa, the governor also nullified the renaming of State Tertiary Institutions across the state.
According to him: “That all recent appointments into the State Civil Service made by the outgoing Government after 19th March,2023 are hereby nullified with immediate effect.
“The renaming of Tertiary Institutions in the State and other appointments related to their Governing Council and their relocations announced recently by the outgoing administration are hereby nullified. All the affected institutions are to revert to their former names and locations.
“All recent appointments of the Traditional Rulers made by the former Governor of Sokoto state, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal are hereby suspended and will be reviewed in due course in the public interest.
“All Local Government Sole Administrator/Caretaker Committees recently appointed by the immediate past administration are hereby dissolved. The sole administrators are to hand over to the Directors of Administration of their Local Governments with immediate effect.
“All Government Boards of Parastatals other than Statutory Boards are hereby dissolved with immediate effect.
All land allocations and other related matters made by the outgoing administration in recent weeks are hereby revoked with immediate effect.
“All recent wasteful and unnecessary auctions of Government assets are hereby suspended and will be revisited in due course. ” the governor directed.
