Flykite Productions, organisers of GOtv Boxing Night, have assured fans of adequate security at the venue of the 31st edition of the premier boxing event holding today.

Seven intriguing bouts are scheduled for the event at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, including a West African Boxing Union (WABU) light welterweight title clash between the cracking pair of Segun “War” Adeyemi and Adeyemi “Spirit” Adekanla.

In a statement on Tuesday, the company assured the fans that top security operatives have been detailed to ensure orderliness and safety. “There have never been security issues at GOtv Boxing Night for the past 30 editions. The safety of the fans is our priority.  The Police and private security operatives, from a reputable company, have been detailed for adequate security at the venue,” the statement said.

Also scheduled for the night is the national welterweight challenge fight between Raheem “Baddo” Animashaun and Ibadan- based Samuel “Apata Roro” Moses. In the other bouts, Afikun Gbenga will square up against Adewale Oladeji in a super welterweight challenge fight; Sikiru “Isho” Ogunyaju, will take on the current national flyweight champion, Sifon “Best” Iwatt, in a national flyweight challenge fight.

The national catchweight category will see Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan battles Batholomew Abuchi,  Emmanuel “Ability” Abimbola will slug it out with Azeez Ayobami in the national lightweight category.while Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu will confront Yusuf “hungry Lion” Ogunbumi in the light welterweight category.

The best boxer on the night will win the N1million cash prize attached to the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy awarded to the star performer.
