Members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress, (APC), from Benue State along with federal appointees from the State have paid tribute to the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George, describing him as a hero of democracy.

This was contained in a statement signed by the joint spokesman of the Benue APC National Assembly Caucus and federal appointees from the State, Hon. Philip Agbese, and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Monday.

Agbese said, “Today is not December 27th when the world celebrates your birthday but as we look forward to May 29th, we believe it is necessary to recognise the heroes of democracy, justice, equity and good governance.”

They described Senator Akume as a shining example of courage and one who has dedicated his life to serving the masses.

“We honour a leader, a mentor, and a visionary, a political godfather who has dedicated his life to serving the masses and shaping the future of our great nation.

The Benue NASS Caucus and Federal appointees appreciated the SGF for his mentorship which has impacted valuable lessons in them, adding that, Senator Akume is a true statesman.

“Through your mentorship, we have learned the value of hard work, endurance, and compassion. Your ability to navigate complex political landscapes with grace and humility has been a valuable lesson to us all.

“We celebrate your achievements, your determination, and your unwavering passion for the greater good. You are a true statesman, a champion of the people, and a shining example of what it means to serve with integrity and purpose,” they said.

The Benue APC NASS Caucus and federal appointees while disclosing how proud they are to call Senator Akume their hero also appreciated him for his service to the nation, and assured him that his service and impact on the nation will never be forgotten.
