A Kano State High Court, presided by Justice Usman Malam Naaba, Monday, granted an interlocutory injunction staying the execution of its previous order which restrained the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from exercising his membership of the All Progressives Congress. 

The court, having read a motion ex-parte, together with a 27 paragraph affidavit and a written address, stayed the execution of its own order contained in its ruling of the 17th of April, 2024 in which it directed the parties to maintain status quo ante as at the 15th of April, 2024 in relation to the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) from the party by the Ganduje Ward Executive Committee members, pending the hearing and determination of the 4th respondent/applicant’s motion on notice.

Justice Na ‘abba, thereafter, adjourned the case to the 30th day of April, 2024 for hearing.

It could be recalled that the court had on April 17, 2024, granted an ex-parte order restraining the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from his membership of APC.

On that occassion, the court also directed the All Progressives Congress (APC), the APC National Working Committee (NWC), the APC Kano State Working Committee (KSWC), and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to maintain status quo ante as of the 15th April, 2024, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit on 30th April, 2024.
