The Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Hon (Princess) Benedicta Attoh, will be conferred with an Award of recognition as a Fellow and SDGs Champion of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Center for Sustainable Development, Effurun, Delta State.

Chief Press Secretary to Etsako East Local Government Council, Benjamin Atu in a statement, said the nomination for the prestigious award of service was contained in a letter of notification sent to the Council Chairman and signed by the Director of the Center, Dr. Emeka Elemike; Green Activist Harrison Agboro, Director of the program; and Dcn. Okezi Odugala, Deputy Director/External Partnership/Liaison

The letter reads in part: “Warm greetings and commendation for your dedication, exemplary leadership abilities, selfless service, and positive contributions to people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership which is in tandem with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and Africa Union Sustainable Development Agenda 2063.”

According to them, the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh would be decorated and presented a Certificate of Recognition during the 3rd Anniversary and Roundtable on Sustainable Development to be held at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources campus in Effurun, Delta State.

As part of the activities to commemorate her investiture, Hon. (Princess) Benedicta Attoh will also be expected to plant a commemorative tree at the university campus to mitigate climate change as she is expected to deploy her wealth of experience towards sustainable development.

The programme is expected to take place by 10 am on Monday, 22nd of April, 2024 at the University Campus.

Her Nomination, which the institution aptly noted to be from their close observation of her activities, will not be unconnected to her numerous achievements in various sectors of the economy of the Council Since the inception of her administration as the first elected female Council Chairman in Edo North and Etsako East are well observed.

Hon (Princess) Benedicta Attoh was also commended for her leadership roles in promoting and encouraging local businesses by providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. In areas of infrastructural development, Hon. Benedicta Attoh has constantly shown up in conquering difficult developmental challenges that have hitherto refused to bow to the efforts of previous administrators of the Council particularly in areas of rural electrification, education, markets buildings and opening skill acquisition as well as her regular empowerment and support to women.
