Osun State Governor has set up a special monitoring team to look into the distribution and pricing challenges of the Petrol Motor Spirit (PMS).

A statement by his spokesperson on Friday, Olawale Rasheed, said the committee would be headed by the Chief of Staff, Kazeen Akinleye, with members drawn from the police, DSS, Army, IPMAN, NUPENG, NLC, and TDU.

He said the committee is to immediately commence the monitoring of the distribution of PMS from point of delivery by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to various discharge outlets in the state

According to the statement, Adeleke charged the committee to liaise with the major marketers for collaboration with the independent marketers to ensure that products are circulated across the state.

He expressed displeasure over the hardship faced by the people of the state, promising that the state government will support federal agencies and private sector operators to address the issues behind fuel scarcity in the state.

“We will look into this fuel scarcity. We can’t fold our arms with our people facing so much hardship,” Adeleke added.
