 The Honourable Minister of Education, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Tahir Mamman has approved the extension of tenure of the Registrar, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Abubakar Aliyu by one year.
   The extension takes effect from 1st April, 2024.
 Head of Information and Public Relations (PRO) of the University,Mallam Jamilu Magaji Muhammed confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
  According to him, “Abubakar Aliyu who is the second Registrar of the decade old University, has over thirty (30) years of professional experience. He started his working career with the Nigeria Immigration Service in 1988 as Assistant Superintendent and left as the Chief Superintendent of Immigration in 2005.
  He thereafter joined the services of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in 2006 as Assistant Registrar, where he rose through ranks to become the Deputy Registrar in 2016.
Abubakar Aliyu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in (English/Hausa) from Bayero University, Kano in 1986. He attended the Government Day Secondary School, Zaria from 1977 to 1982 and Local Education Authority Primary School Pada, Zaria from 1971 to 1977.
 The Registrar according to the statement,is the Head of Registry Department as well the Chief Administrative Officer of the University. He is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the Institution.
A member of the Association Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Mal. Aliyu was born on January 17, 1965 in Zaria Local Government of Kaduna State.
