Perturbed by the rate at which hunger and hardship is bitting most Nigerians,Dr. Isaiah Macwealth launched a food bank, where over 2000 families have been blessed with the sufficient food and other emergency support to make their lives better.
Within the space of three months spanning last Christmas and this Easter which marked really tough time for Nigerians economically, Dr. Isaiah Macwealth Ministries which runs the Ark of Light Food and Emergency Bank (ALPEB) has supported a lot of families.
This initiative was fueled by a deep passion for the poor and the needy. He launched Ark of Light Food and Emergency bank (ALFEB) on the 10th of December, 2023, a food sanctuary and Emergency Response Centre. This initiative aims at providing food to 20,000 families yearly in line with the firm belief of the Founder, Dr. Isaiah Macwealth that no one should face the indignity of food insecurity.
Macwealth, is a renowned philanthropist whose name is synonymous with compassion and care has for over 20 years extended a helping hand to the less privileged across different communities in Nigeria and beyond. With the establishment of the Isaiah wealth initiative (TIWI) which covers a network of fifteen NGOs catering for diverse human needs over 20 years ago, his life’s work revolves around alleviating suffering and empowering the underprivileged. The Ark of Light Food and Emergency Bank (ALPEB) is his response in a world where hunger and deprivation can cast a long shadow.
“ALPEB serves as a lifeline, offering food and Empowerment programs to families and individuals struggling to put food on the table. Between launch date of 10th December and now, young children, mothers, and fathers don’t have to go to bed hungry, thanks to Dr. Isaiah Macwealth and the Ark of light Food and Emergency Bank.
In December it Open pantry day, precisely on the 18th of December 2023, Ark of Light Food and Emergency Bank was opened to over 1000 families in Lagos and its environs. Its shelves where stocked with staples like rice, beans, garri, cooking oils and also with essentials like clothes, toys for kids and other essentials ensuring families could receive comprehensive support during these challenging times.
“Emphasis was laid on individuals such as Widows, widowers, the elderly, retirees, mothers, single mother and orphans. Food items and other essentials were given to all beneficiaries. The provision of carefully curated food packages ensuring balanced nutrition, drinks, money to aid transportation are pointers to the unending support by the Convener Dr. Isaiah Macwealth .
Also, in March open Pantry Day, Ark of light food and Emergency bank (ALFEB) opened her doors once again on the 29th of March 2024 igniting hope and joy in the lives of beneficiaries that participated .
Over 2500 individuals could not hold their joy and tears as they entered the food bank open pantry. The sound of music, serving of hot meals and drinks in addition to the food items given to them filled their hearts with so much joy.
