Vowed to revoke contracts from incapable contractors

The Federal Government read riot act to housing contractors with a warning that the government would not entertain any substandard contract or abandoned projects in the present administration.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc Musa Ahmed Dangiwa, gave this warning yesterday,, while on a familiarisation visit to some housing sites in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Arc Dangiwa stressed that the Federal Government would revoke contracts from construction companies who does not have capacities of delivering at stipulated durations.

He further restated that president Tinubu administration is committed to delivering standard and affordable housing units for Nigerians.

“We will no longer tolerate any abandoned project. We intend to recook the investments done by the government earlier on,so all houses construction sites that were abandoned we are inviting all the developers to come and sit down with us and so that we can know the reasons why they abandoned it.

“This time, contractors who relayed or don’t have both infrastructural and financial capacity, are some of the developers that would be aged out and we will bring in those that are serious for the construction to take up, because at the end of the year we want to ensure that Nigerians are better because there are millions of Nigerians that need houses,” he added
