Enugwu-Ukwu Unity Hall, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, bustled with activities as family friends, well-wishers and people whose lives were impacted through his children gathered to celebrate Chief Obioma Imo Okorie as he clocked 88.

Chinonso, his first son said: “We are celebrating our father while he is alive for the role, he played in moulding us into what we are.”

Mercy, his wife said: “My father-in-law is an amazing man, a man of great integrity that is full of joyful spirit. There is never a dull

moment with him, he is always telling jokes and stories. He is so caring, and I pray for that God continue to bless him with good health and wisdom.”

Pa Okorie’s wife of 47 years, Stella, described him as a loving husband and caring father: “My husband is a good man. I thank God for his life, I pray that God will keep him alive to enjoy the fruits of his labour. I pray that God grant him good health and more years.”

The celebrant responded: “My son Chinonso and his wife decided to host this birthday party to celebrate me, I thank them and pray that God bless and grant them fulfilment.”

Earlier, Chief Chike Ofoma, said: “I have known the Okorie family for over 20 years. I knew their first son Chinonso from when he was a boy.

I supplied him with goods at Ladipo Market. He never defaulted on payment.

“To celebrate one at 88 years alive is a great feat to achieve. If

Chief Okorie were not a nice man he may not have attained this age. It is by the grace and to the glory of God that he attained the age of 88. At 88 years old he is quite strong that you will think that he is 60 and I know it is the grace of God.”
