Normal flight operations have resumed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja after the terminal was shut for 30 minutes to enable the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria evacuate a private jet that skidded off the tarmac.

This was disclosed by the General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu.

The airplane, belonging to Nest Oil also lost its landing gear in the process.

Though no lives were lost no injuries sustained, FAAN management said the temporary closure was in line with international safety procedures.
