The Eze Igbo Ghana and Assistant Publicity Secretary, Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has congratulated Abia State Governor- Elect, Dr Alex Otti and the good people of Abia State on his electoral victory in the just concluded governorship election.

As announced by the Returning Officer for Abia, Prof Nnenna Oti, after reviewing and collating the contentious Obingwa LGA votes, the LP candidate satisfied the constitutional requirement to be declared the winner as he  scored 175,465 votes to defeat Okey Ahaiwe of PDP who scored 88,529 votes.

In a statement released to the media from the revered Obiukwu Obieziokwu palace in Ghana, the Umuduruoha Amaigbo Nwagele Imo-State born royal father said victory of Dr Otti at the poll marks the dawn of new era for the people of Abia State.

Dr Ihenetu appealed to the incoming governor to carry other contestants along so that together, all of them would be able to give Abia people good governance. “As a  personality who has earned his merit as a seasoned banker, I believe that Dr Otti will bring in his experience to govern Abia State in such a manner that the state would return to the path of glory among committee of states in Nigeria.”

He appealed to the Governor-elect about Ariaria Market, Aba, which used to be the pride of every Igbo man, but today, shadow of itself. “I plead with Dr Otti to use his experience and contact as a seasoned banker to revamp the market and turn Abia to the best state in Nigeria.

“It would also be great if Dr Otti works with Abians and Ndigbo in the Diaspora so that they can contribute their quota to the development of the state,” he stated.
