The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, Anambra has become a beneficiary of an ultramodern skill acquisition center donated by Senator Uche Ekwunife CON.

Powered independently by a high-tech and reliable solar system and equipped with vocational training equipment, the skill acquisition center is reported to rank among the most prominent vocational facilities in the history of the South-East region and Nigeria as a whole.

The event was graced by the University staff, students and community stakeholders as well as Political well wishers drawn from different political parties.

They commended Ekwunife for her relentless efforts in delivering and completing infrastructure projects despite not being in the office of the Senate.

Addressing the gathering, the former Senator charged the students to take advantage of the facility considering the current harsh economic realities.

According to her; ” the only way out of unemployment in society is by having skills through which you will be empowered to employ yourself and other people and make a living”

During the launching ceremony on Friday the former Chairman 9th Senate Committee on science and technology was accompanied to the by the Director General Senator Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization; former Member Anambra State House of Assembly and former Commissioner Ministry of Lands, Hon Chief KG Enemuo; Director Welfare Hon Mrs Ify Chinwuko; Director Operations Mr Ebuka Okeke, some eminent Awka Chiefs led by Engr. Law Offordile, LGA Campaign Coordinators, among others.

Other esteemed personalities present at the event were the Clergy, Catholic Women Organization, students and other prominent guests.

 

This is just as the Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof Charles Esimone was hosted by students of the institution in a valedictory service organized in his honour.
