Former Rangers International stars in the United States of America (USA) have expressed sadness over the demise of Kenneth Ilodigwe who passed on in Enugu last week.

The USA- based members of the Enugu Flying Antelopes family in an email sent to Daily Sunsports stated that the news of Ilodigwe’s death was shocking as it came at a time when they were warming up to receive him as one of those coming to the States for the annual Rangers reunion in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Chairman of USA based ex- Rangers Donald ‘Stone’ Igwebuike stated that they have lost a great ex-international who in his heyday played fine football.

“We pray the good Lord accept his soul,” Igwebuike stated.

Patron of the ex-Rangers group, Benson Ejindu on his part stated:

“What a sad news. Kendo as he is fondly called was one of the finest footballers to come out of Africa. He was not just a Rangers veteran but a former star of Clemson University here in the US. He would be fondly remembered by Nigerian soccer fans worldwide. May his soul rest in peace, even as we keep his family in our prayers.”

It would be noted that Ilodigwe passed on the same week the Nigerian football family lost former Green Eagles player and coach, Paul Hamilton.Hamilton passed on in Lagos at 75.
