Evercare Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to tackle hearing impairment for millions of children under five and adult in Nigeria.

Director of Operations, Evercare, Eric Ochieng, said in commemoration of World Hearing Day on March 3, the partnership aims to reduce the number of children having hearing challenges in Nigeria and Africa which currently stands at eight million.

“We have about 130 visiting consultants, and 20 professionals in FDs, and other dedicated specialists in different specialties to provide comprehensive health care. With our success stories so far, we believe we are capable of doing this too, it’s a lifelong journey. We want to help as many children as possible in Nigeria to tackle this critical challenge,” he maintained.

Group Commercial Officer of the hospital, Irfan Khan, affirmed that, its medical personnel are ready to give the best services to achieve desired results of patients and hospital management.

He stressed that the hospital aim was to give back Nigeria through its – cutting -edge technology and services as an impact-driven organization. He confirmed that the Group is looking forward to partnering with the government, NGOs, and corporate organizations to deliver individualized solutions through research and development.

He said its services were designed to help Nigerians save cost instead of flying abroad for the same save services offered in Nigeria: “We are not after offering cheapest and fastest service; we are not in haste. We are guided by quality and ethical standards to achieve sustainable results for everyone.”.

Business Development Africa and Regional Manager, fMED-EL, Stephanie Unterrieder, said: “We are careful and conscious of what we do. We carry out thorough investigation and examination even for children special needs, ours is to see that the numbers of children with hearing challenges are reduced to the barest minimum.”
