Catfish pepper soup is one of Nigerian’s most popular delicacy. After a hard day’s job, a lot of people tend to relax with this tasty recipe. Point and Kill, as they usually referred to it, probably because it is served fresh and the customer would have to point at the one he wants to be prepared for him if it is in a restaurant.

It is actually the most popular fish pepper soup in Nigeria.

There are basic ingredients for making cat fish  peppervsoup, however, you are free to spice up with flavours and spices of choice.

PREPARATION

•First, cut into sizes and soak the fish in a hot water to remove those slimy outer layer completely.

•Slice the utazi, uziza, onions  and set aside in a bow.

•Pound the fresh red pepper, crayfish together with a mortar and pestle. 

•Put the fish into the cooking pot and start cooking. Add ingredients and allow to boil for about 10 minutes.   

•Add the leaves and boil for another five minutes.

Always serve hot. It can be eaten with agidi, white rice, or  eaten alone.

NOTE: Use a smaller pot and little quantity of water while making it so that all the ingredients would easily soak with the fish.
