Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested 83 persons suspected to have committed various crimes including armed robbery, kidnapping, defilement and vandalism in the state between January and February.

The state Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu who made this known while parading the suspects on Tuesday revealed that 20 victims of kidnap were rescued while 46 different calibers of firearms were recovered.

He also said that a total of 125 ammunition of different calibres recovered, 35 motor vehicles recovered, six tricycles recovered while 15 motorcycles were recovered.

Uzuegbu while commending his men for their achievements in combating crime in the state warned them to shun corruption and ill-conduct capable of tarnishing the image of the force and their own image.

He charged them to be professional, firm, upright and diligent in their duties in order to be able to fight crimes and criminality in the state.

He also warned criminals to steer clear from the state as Enugu is no longer their haven. He equally called on rumourmongers, rabble-rousers, and peddlers of fake and misinformation to desist forthwith or face consequences.
