A ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Abbas Balarabe, collapsed during his screening on Wednesday at the Senate Chambers.

Abbas nominated by President Tinubu to replace state’s the slot earlier accorded to the former Governor El Rufai collapsed while undergoing his screening process presided over by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to screen and confirm Abbas Balarabe, Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Ayodele Olawande.

The president’s request was contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, at the plenary on Tuesday.

Soon after the Senate concluded the screening of Jamila, Balarabe took to the podium at about 1: 45 shortly after reading his citation and addressing the Senate, Balarabe while standing and waiting for the Senators’ questions suddenly slumped.

The event threw the Senate into chaos as the Senate Leader called for immediate first aid while the Senate President forced the Senate to close. Efforts to Revive the nominee are still underway.
