As Muslim Faithfuls in Nigeria and the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr which marks the successful completion of the Holy month of Ramadan fast, some members of the House of Representatives have identified empathy and unity as key towards achieving progress in the country.

 

The Lawmakers in separate statements issued on Wednesday preached Unity and peace coexistence among Nigerians, while congratulating the Muslim Ummah also urged them to exhibit the lessons learnt during the Ramadan fast.

 

Messages from; Hon Adeboye Paul Kalejaiye ( Ajeromi Ifelodun constituency); Hon Gwacham Maureen Chinwe (Oyi/ Ayamelum Federal Constituency Anambra) and Hon Murphy Osaro Omoruyi (Egor/Ikpoba Okha) preached messages of hope for the progress of the country.

 

Member representing Idemili North and South federal constituency Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo in his message felicitated with the Muslim Ummah urging them and Nigerians to keep spreading kindness, generosity, and love within communities.

It read; “Ramadan has been a time of reflection, prayer, and self-discipline. It has taught us the values of compassion, empathy, and solidarity with those less fortunate. As we gather with family and friends to celebrate Eid, let us carry forward these lessons into our daily lives.

“May this Eid bring you joy, happiness, and fulfillment. May it be a time of renewed faith and spiritual growth. And may the blessings of Allah continue to guide us all towards a brighter future for ourselves, our families, and our beloved Nigeria.

Hon Murphy Osaro Omoruyi representing Egor/Ikpoba Okha of Edo state prayed for the unity of the nation. He said; “As we celebrate Eid – EL – Fitri , may the spirit of Unity and Togetherness strengthen our nation. May this Special occasion bring Peace and prosperity to you and your loved ones”.

Similarly, member representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency of Adamawa State Hon Aliyu Waikil Boya urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of empathy and Tolerance.

 

Boya in a message through a phone call from Saudi Arabia appealed to Nigerians to always work together for the continuous growth of the country.

He urged the Muslim faithful to reflect on the significance of the celebration and share love everywhere they find themselves.

“The government is working tirelessly to address the challenges and we are confident that they will soon become a thing of the past. I urge Nigerians to work as brothers and sisters and look to the future with hope.

“We will continue to play our roles as a government and count on the prayers and support of the people to ensure a better Nigeria for all,” he said.
