Ali Abare, Gombe
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)  has detained a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 governorship aspirant in Gombe State, Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka, over alleged complicity involving the 2015 campaign funds.
An anonymous source disclosed to Daily Sun on Monday that Tinka was initially invited by operatives of the agency on Wednesday, January 24, before he was subsequently detained.
He was however said to have been released the following day.
This was the second time Tinka was being detained by the anti-graft agency at the Gombe zonal office as EFCC steps up investigations into slush funds allegedly deployed to procure victory for the then ruling party during the 2015 general election.
Tinka, believed to be a close associate of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, is considered to be among the top notchers vying for the governorship ticket under the platform of the PDP.
It would be recalled that newly appointed Head of Operations for the zone,  Johnson Babalola, recently informed journalists that the agency has finalised arrangements to arraign three suspects said to be connected to the PDP campaign fund scam before a court in Jos.
