Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi, yesterday ,said anyone supporting a southern gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming general elections did not have the peace, unity and progress of the state at heart.

He insisted that it was the turn of Ebonyi North Senatorial district to produce his successor, and called on the people to vote for the APC candidate, Francis Nwifuru.

Umahi spoke in Abakaliki during APC local government rally in the area. He noted that he was a product of equity, justice and fairness, adding that it was in reciprocation of the the support of the Abakaliki bloc in 2015,  that made him to vow that he must ensure that an Izzi man takes over from him in 2023,  in line with equity, Justice and fairness.

He commended the leaders and founding fathers of the state for their support for the APC Governorship candidate,and assured them that he would consolidate on the achievements of his administration, and make the state proud.

He commended the people for coming out in their numbers to show their  support and solidarity to their son, the governorship candidate,  and all the candidates of APC.

He further enjoined them to ensure that they cast their votes to all the candidates of APC during the elections, stressing that they will not allow the opposition to win any position in the state.

“I am very happy to be in your midst today, my good people of Abakaliki and Izzi. In 2015 when I was contesting to be your governor, you supported me wholeheartedly despite that one of your sons was also contesting.You did that because you believed in principles of equity, fairness and justice. It was because of your support and solidarity in 2015 that i vowed that I will ensure that an Izzi man takes over from me. Behold, I have presented your son, the Speaker of the State Assembly as your next Governor. Support him and all the APC candidates during the elections,” he said.
