A rights group in Ebonyi State, the Human Rights Advocacy Organisation (HRAO) and a political group, the Dave Umahi House to House Campaign, have endorsed the state’s governor, Chief David Umahi, for second term in office.

The groups said that their resolve to back Governor Umahi’s second term bid was reached after due consideration of his more than three years in office which they said was full of positive testimonies.

Leader of the rights’ group, Mrs. Jacinta Nworie, made the resolution known while briefing journalists, in Abakaliki, the state capital.

She said that the governor has transformed the state within three years in office, explaining that the state has recorded massive infrastructural development which cut across its 13 council areas.

Nworie explained that Governor Umahi has accommodated all the ethnic groups in the state through appointments into his administration and empowerment policy.

“We the members of Human Rights Advocacy Organization has come together to tell the world the numerous achievements of His Excellency the Governor of Ebonyi State.

“This is why Dave Umahi House to House Campaign approached us to partner with us.

“We told them that we are human rights and we are not partisan but we support good governance.

“We agreed to work together to bring back the man we have seen tremendous achievements within his three years in office.

“First of its kind, we are having many flyovers in the state. There are many communities in the state that were not motorable before.

“Through the department of religion and welfare, many indigent patients have been treated and discharged courtesy of the Governor who has paid their medical bills.

“Cancer, hepatitis, haemoid, and diabetes patients among those have been treated free of charge by the state government”, she said.
