The Commissioner of Police, Benue state command, CP. Emmanuel Adesina has ordered the deployment of officers across the state to ensure maximum security of lives and property during the Easter celebration.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Catherine Anene and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Friday.

The CP in his operational order, directed all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police officers to deploy personnel and other resources to strategic places mapped out in their areas of responsibility, particularly, churches, parks, event centres, entry and exit routes in the state.

He cautioned officers deployed on the high ways to be more vigilant and remain courteous while carrying out their duty.

The CP felicitated with the people of Benue state, particularly Christians on the occasion of Easter celebration just as he enjoined Christians to pray for God’s protection and peace upon Benue state.

“Religious leaders, traditional leaders, parents and guidances are advised to warn their children and wards against practices that are unlawful in the course of their celebration,” he said.

For ease of communication with the police during the festive period, CP Adesina said following emergency call lines will remain active. They include 0806 600 6475, 0706 737 4913, 0805 749 3117 and 0708 325 0154.
