The judiciary has been tasked again to use the adjudication of ongoing election matters nationwide, especially the presidential election petitions, to restore hope of the people Nigerians.

Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Enugu Anglican Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, who gave the charge in Enugu on behalf of the Nigerian youths, said, indeed, all eyes were on the judiciary and prayed they do not fail the people and the nation.

Speaking at the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) Enugu 70th Anniversary Celebration, at St. Bartholomew’s, Asata, Enugu, through the Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Rev. Canon Maxwell Onyia, the Archbishop said a lot was on the hands of the judiciary to make or mar the huge investments and interest Nigerians made and have for the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.

“From everything we have been doing since this week, we’ve actually tried to encourage the youths to put their hope and trust in God. We are looking forward to God to save Nigeria from the present crisis we are into. We are telling them to be calm and be prayerful because we believe that with God all things are possible. He created the whole earth including people in Nigeria and we know that with Him all things are possible. So our message to the youths is that they should be prayerful, they should look up to God for a turning around in this nation, for a better Nigeria.

“Actually we’ve seen that all eyes are on the judiciary including that of the Church, we are praying that they are not going to pervert justice. We are praying that the judiciary will do the right thing so that the masses will see the rule of law at work again in Nigeria. “Yes, the promises have been made that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, but all these while we have seen the error, during election periods all the old cargoes will come out to occupy one position or the other. But in the last election I think there is a little change and we believe God as we go on to build on that, that statement that the youths are leaders of tomorrow will actually be seen to be at work in Nigeria.”
