Wives of military officers under the aegis of Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), yesterday, in Abuja celebrated their immediate past president, Vickie Irabor.

The new president and wife of the new Chief Defence Staff (CDS),Mrs Oghogho Musa in her remarks, described her predecessor as an unshakeable pillar always ready to contribute to humanity.

Mrs Musa commended her remarkable style of leadership, love, care and dedication to DEPOWA, promising to sustain the passion and love for humanity ,she has built while in office.

She said “Your legacies, achievements and transformational leadership style in the various forms of human capacity building, women and youths empowerment, education, health and medical outreaches are undeniable.

” You were and will still continue to be unshakeable pillar,a confident,a mother to us in DEPOWA.Your several commitments and unwavering dedication which nurture a culture of collaboration and innovation has left an unforgettable input in DEPOWA.

Mrs Gift Ihejirika , on her part said Irabo has been a source of Joy to as many that have come in contact with her.

She prayed that that the almighty God will fill her break from active service with joy.

In her response,the former DEPOWA president, Mrs Irabor, thanked God and her husband for giving her the opportunity to serve as the 14th president of the association.

She said the sent forth is the honor and testimonies of the love and love they shared, urging officers’ wives to continue supporting their husbands in their roles of defending the nation.

Irabor added that DEPOWA had implemented numerous projects and initiatives that had positively impacted the lives of members and the wider military and police community.

She prayed for the new president to lead with passion, wisdom and compassion and take DEPOWA to greater heights.

“I have full confidence in the new leadership’s ability to carry on the vision and mission of DEPOWA, to build on the foundation laid by our Golden leaders,” she stated

 

The event witnessed the attendance of both present and past presidents of the Nigerian army, navy, air force and police officers’ wives association and their members.
