The dust raised by last Saturday’s ward congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State has not settled despite the announcement of the results by the chairman of the congress committee, Mr. Sani Dododo in Asaba, on Monday.

But some stakeholders of the party said on Tuesday that the result as announced on Monday was not the authentic outcome of the congress, and that the authentic result as certified by the national secretariat of the party will be announced today (Wednesday).

A source told our correspondent in Asaba that Dododo was on his own when he announced his own result without the support of his other four members of the committee.

The source who admitted that there was parallel congress in some wards across the state, however, added that majority of the wards agreed with the harmonised list of ward executives that was adopted at the congress.

Announcing the results on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Asaba, Dododo urged APC faithfuls to disregard any other result announced or paraded elsewhere as they are null and void, insisting that no other result will be accepted.

However, state leader of the party, O’tega Emerhor was quoted to have said that the ward congresses are guided by party guidelines and only results authenticated by national and the appeal panel can stand.

Emerhor reportedly expressed disappointment that the ward and local government congress committee’s chairman alone went ahead to announce results which were allegedly doctored, an exercise he insisted was in futility.
