Deeper Life Bible Church recently marked its 50th anniversary with women taking turns to lead the congregation in gospel hymns and songs. The service was streamed live to all branches of the church across the world.

The church, which kicked off in August 1973 with 15 members now has over 500 branches in Lagos and about 3000 branches in 60 countries worldwide. One of the highlights of the commemorative event was the launch of four special study bible centres to provide a guide for preachers and other Christians committed to soul-winning work.

A delegate from Zambia, Bishop Muzuzu, while congratulating the church, urged the members to sustain the standard of the ministry till Jesus comes.  He extolled the exemplary lifestyle of Pastor Kumuyi and commended his effort for taking the gospel to every cranny of the world.

“We have moved to the next level of glory, and you must move to the higher glory. “What the Lord has done, he will improve upon in our lives”, he said.

He also called for a new commitment, consecration, and devotion from the members of the church.  He told the church that their labours over these years would not be in vain.  “We must march on, not resting on our oars, for there are many more lands to cover”, he declared.
