During your first tenure in Benue State House of Assembly, you did well for your constituency (Kwande West) and your people were very happy with you. However, in this your second tenure, I can’t tell if you are still the Benjamin B. Nungwa that we all know. I said so because you are not doing anything for your constituency again. Note that when you were performing well in your first tenure, I applauded you with a publication in a national newspaper entitled: “In Praise of Hon. Benjamin B Nungwa.” I did that so as to encourage you to do more. I must confess that you are now disappointing me, in that you are now ‘representing’ the people without presenting any project to your constituency.
That aside, I visited you some time ago during your first tenure and complained about a collapsed bridge that has been serving as a link between Mbamaaya and Ajio communities, both within the area you are representing. I remember advising you to do something that would ensure the reconstruction of the bridge in question. You told me that you wanted to construct the bridge but the members of the People Democratic Party stopped you from doing it. According to you, they said you were in another party and they could not allow anybody from the opposition party to do something for them as if the entire community was inhabited by only PDP members.
I visited the place recently and I was able to gather the youths from both political parties and discussed with them. This time around, nobody is going to stop you because I have been able to convince the youth and they have promised to welcome you for the sake of development. They even regretted stopping you in the first place. Honourable BB Nungwa, that bridge is still there and the bridge needs you.
Nevertheless, your ambition to compete with others for Benue North East Senatorial zone is a welcome development but you have to convince the people that you are equal to the task and one of the things you must do to make the people happy, most especially, those within your community, is to construct that bridge. At least, I can testify that so far, you are one of the few politicians in Kwande Local Government Area that one can trust a little because no matter how bad you are, you are still far better than others.
