A prayer session has been held by the Daura Emirate Council for President Muhammadu Buhari’s quick recovery. The prayer sessions was conducted on Friday, and was organised by the Daura Emirate Council in Kastina state.

The session was led by Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Farouk.

Activities for the prayer session included the recitation of the complete Qur’an eleven times

The council had a marathon prayer session, invoking Allah’s protection and good health for President Buhari.

The prayer was said to be attended by thousands of Daura residents.

President Buhari, a native of Daura, is currently on a medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

However, leading the prayer, Farouk said the president need prayers not only for his health but for divine guidance in steering the affairs of the nation.

“Mr. President is our son and he deserves much more than this,” Farouk said.

He also assured Daura residents that there was no cause for alarm regarding President Buhari’s health.

He said: “Going by available contacts we have on daily basis, the President is in high spirit.”

The emir said it is important to note that leaders need constant prayers from their subjects.

He said this awareness prompted the call for prayers on behalf of the president.

“He needs our encouragement, support and prayers for him to succeed and build a better Nigeria,” he said.

Also, chief Imams of major Juma’at mosques in Daura, Mai’adua, Zango, Sandamu and Baure Local government areas under the emirate conducted the prayers.

The prayer session included recitation of the complete Qur’an eleven times.
