Benue State House of Assembly Speaker Hon Aondona Dajoh, and Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) Managing Director/CEO, Dr Raymond Asemakaha, have extended their appreciation to Benue civil servants on the occasion of the 2024 Workers’ Day.

In a felicitation message, Dajoh acknowledged the contributions of workers to the state’s growth and development. He assured them that the State Assembly would continue to support the executive in ensuring the protection of their rights and welfare. Dajoh urged workers to sustain their support for the present administration’s policies and programs.

In a separate address, Asemakaha commended Benue workers, particularly BIPC staff, for their dedication and commitment to Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s vision of transforming BIPC into an economic catalyst for the state. He highlighted the achievements made by BIPC, including the delivery of premium products such as bakery, water, and palm oil, and the proposed brewery.

Asemakaha acknowledged the challenges faced by BIPC, including a liability of over 4.1 billion for VAT, TAX, pension, gratuity, ITF, and NSITF. However, he emphasized his commitment to staff welfare, citing the clearing of 7-months unpaid salaries, allowances, and 13th-month payments, as well as ensuring timely salary payments.

Asemakaha assured staff that his management is aware of the current economic challenges and will continue to provide staff-friendly incentives.
