Cross River All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders have vowed to mobilise 50,000 participants for Tinubu/Shettima rally scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, at the UJ Esuene Sports Stadium, Calabar.
The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the rally, Sen John Owan Enoh, who stated this at the unveiling programme for the Tinubu/Shetima rally with journalists at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre Calabar on Monday, said members of the APC are guaranteed to the event without prejudice, calling on all party supporters in the state to rally round Tinubu and Shetima.
Enoh, a former senator who represented Cross River Central senatorial district, stated that the duo are the right candidates for the presidential position in 2023.
He said: “Cross River is ready to host Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu at the mega rally. We are fully prepared to play host to our very distinguished candidates,”Onoh maintained.
“We appeal to voters in the state to recognise the track records of the former Lagos state governor and vote for him as president of the country. He is the only APC candidate who has the capacity to turn around the fortunes of the state
“We expect that our people will vote for him massively because of his track record. He has contributed significantly to democracy in the country and has done so much for Lagos state as a governor of that state.”
According to him, the defining thing in the coming election is not the Muslim-Muslim ticket or returning to the north, but the unity of the country.
While promising that the APC, if elected into power, will take the welfare of Nigerians seriously, Owan-Enoh insisted that APC remains the hope of a united country.
