Energy commission of Nigeria,ECN has stated that plans are on ground to take clean cook stove sensitization and training across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Director General of ECN, Dr Abdullahi Mustapha made this known at the closing ceremony of a two day workshop and training on the adoption of clean cook stove solution held in Abuja, yesterday.

Dr Mustapha stressed that the commission is committed to reducing carbon emissions and solve problems associated with energy generation in the country.

“I want to say that this sensitization does not end here. We are just at the pilot stage. And we aim to go around the entire Six geopolitical zone with this theme sensitization. It is a commitment that energy commission has made already that we will try and reduce to carbon missions. And also try to solve problems of energy in all these ramifications.

He urged the participants to go back home with a cleaner minds that the problems associated with cooking with domestic appliances is solved.

Dr Mustapha further added that feedbacks venues will be opened in all the areas to enable the commission improve on what is already on ground.

Deputy Director, Department of Energy Training and Manpower Development, Chinwe Nkem,in her closing remarks, urged the participants to continue to preach the good message of clean cookstoves adoption,as it will go a long way in safeguarding the lives of Nigerians, especially women and children.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Ngozi Uche appreciated the agency for the opportunity and pledged to use the knowledge and also transfer it to other women.
