The remains of foremost educator and former Regent Traditional Head of Ichida Community,  Chief Simon Amamchukwu Okeke Ezeamma, will be buried on Thursday, July 27,.

The late Ichie Enyi of Ichida, 91, who died on April 19, was born  to the famous Nri ritualist, Chief Obiejesi Ezeamama Aghaji of Umunwuga of Amuleri Village, Anaocha LGA, Anambra State.

He was a pillar of society and an active participant in every progressive effort of society and served in various capacities, including secretary, Njikola Local Government Council Association (1959-1960); secretary of St. Theresa’s Church, Ichida Executive Committee (now Parish Council) from 1959 to 1970, chairman, Health Committee of the Caretaker Committee of the IPU, and chairman, Ichida Central Market Site Inspection Committee (1977-1980).

According to Mr Arinze Ezeamama, the first son and head of the family,  the burial and funeral ceremony will start on Wednesday, July 26, with a Christian wake at his compound in Amuleri village, Ichida, by 5pm.

Lying-in-state will follow next day at the compound, while a Requiem Mass is scheduled for 10 am at St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ichida. Interment and condolences follow immediately.  The burial ceremony will be wrapped up with a Thanksgiving service on July 30 at St Theresa Catholic Church.
