Two years after 70,000 rice farmers in Kebbi State benefited from N15 billion Anchored Borrower loan scheme, another set of 140,000 farmer have been registered for new loans by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, said this, on Monday, while receiving about 25,000 members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who just defected from the party to the All Progressives Progress (APC), and its chieftains, including state Chairman, Alhaji Bello Doya, at Government House.

The governor said the state was ready to repositioned Nigeria’s name from one sided economy nation to diversified economy.

According to the governor, “The CBN has agreed to provide soft loan to 140,000 farmers in our state under Anchored Borrowers programme. This will ensure that our state remains top producer of rice,wheat not only in Nigeria, but across the west African countries.”
